Seventh Annual Social Determinants of Health Symposium

1968-2018, Voices Of Social Change: Empowered Communities For Health And Social Justice

The Social Determinants of Health Symposium is an annual, day-long event that brings together national experts, local community leaders, city residents, and faculty and students from Baltimore colleges and universities to examine a pressing topic related to the root causes of health disparities.

During the 2018 Social Determinants of Health Symposium, local and national leaders, from 1968 and 2018, reflected on fifty years of activism and social justice. Learn about the speakers! Youth spoken word artists from Dew More Baltimore performed poetry and the Baltimore School for the Arts students performed songs of the civil rights era. Attendees had the opportunity to reflect and discuss with one another during a small break out session.
