Meet Our New Associate Director, Dr. Denis G. Antoine II, MD!

We are excited to introduce our new associate director, Dr. Denis Antoine! Dr. Antoine is an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He serves as the Director of the Center for Addiction and Pregnancy (CAP) and Addiction Treatment Services (ATS) at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Additionally, he is the Medical Director of the Cornerstone Program at Helping Up Mission.

Dr. Antoine will focus on Goal #1: "Facilitating collaborations between communities, universities, and healthcare delivery systems to build collective capacity for achieving health equity in Baltimore."

What is your research focus?

Increase in quality of care and underserved populations with substance use disorders and other psychiatric morbidities.

As an associate director, what are you looking forward to most?

Finding new ways to link the Johns Hopkins community with the greater Baltimore region using community-based participatory principles.

What is your favorite book or movie?

Book: Invisible Man

Movie: Shawshank Redemption 

What is a hobby or interest that you enjoy outside of work?

Writing and playing music. My top two musical instruments are the guitar and the piano.

Grenada

What is one thing you’d like friends of the UHI to know?

I've been at Hopkins for nearly 20 years in various roles. I look forward to working closely and connecting the Baltimore and Hopkins communities.
