Winner of the 13th Annual Henrietta Lacks Memorial Award 2024

The Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute awarded the 2024 Henrietta Lacks Memorial Award to a collaboration between New Song Community Learning Center, Inc., a Baltimore City Public Charter School operator of New Song Academy #322, and Johns Hopkins SOURCE. This award, which includes a $15,000 prize, was presented at the 2024 Henrietta Lacks Lecture on October 5, hosted by the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. UHI would also like to acknowledge an organization named as an honorable mention this year. 

PIVOT Women's Reentry & Workforce Development Program: A Baltimore-based initiative dedicated to holistic reentry support and workforce development for women. PIVOT addresses behavioral, social, and emotional challenges while equipping women with job skills and employment connections.
