Winner of the 14th Annual Henrietta Lacks Memorial Award 2025
AgriHood Baltimore Food Box Delivery Program

The Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute proudly presented the 2025 Henrietta Lacks Memorial Award to the AgriHood Baltimore Food Box Delivery Program, led by Plantation Park Heights Urban Farm in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to address food insecurity, this program delivers fresh, locally grown produce directly to families in the Park Heights community, ensuring consistent access to healthy meals while supporting neighborhood farmers. By combining food distribution with urban farming, the initiative strengthens community ties and promotes sustainable, community-driven solutions to health and nutrition.
The award, which includes a $15,000 prize, was presented during the 2025 Henrietta Lacks Memorial Lecture on Saturday, October 4, hosted by the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
